The Department of Immunodiagnostis
The Department of Immunodiagnostics was newly established in April 2018 as the “Department of Immunodiagnostics” with funding and academic support from SRL Corporation (Miraca Holding Group). From 2021, the Department of Immunodiagnostics will be taken over as a joint research department with the support of Japan Antibody Pharmaceuticals, Inc. With the cooperation of clinical doctors, we aim to establish new high-affinity monoclonal antibodies and diagnostic and therapeutic methods using the technologies we have developed, in addition to utilizing human tissue samples (surgical materials, patient blood) as possible direct antigens.
Although monoclonal antibodies still play a key role in cancer diagnostic techniques such as ELISA and FACS, antibodies with higher specificity and binding ability are required to further improve the sensitivity and accuracy of detection. Monoclonal antibodies are also attracting attention as therapeutic agents.
We aim to develop novel molecular targeted drugs for not only early diagnosis but also treatment of cancer patients using the antibodies established in this course.
Thank you for your interest in our department.
